چکیده

In this paper, we continue our line of research for defining an integrated framework for the specification and analysis of security and trust, aimed at providing the basis for the modeling and analysis of security and trust aspects of emergent dynamic coalitions (e.g., mobile ad hoc networks, peer to peer systems, web services). In particular, we consider two well-known languages: 1) the Role-based Trust-management framework (RT ) and, in particular, its most basic language RT0, and 2) the transitive trust model, for defining trust and recommendation relationships. First, we show an encoding of the transitive trust model into part of RT0; then, this subset is mapped into the inference construct of the Crypto-CCS process algebra. Also, we introduce in the languages operators dealing with levels of trust. The relationships among these languages could allow us to model and analyze trust and recommendation issues in distributed systems by means of standard formal techniques, based on inference systems.

Bandwidth and Delay Optimization by Integrating of Software Trust Estimator with Multi-User Cloud Resource Competence

Trust Establishment is one of the significant resources to enhance the scalability and reliability of resources in the cloud environment. To establish a novel trust model on SaaS (Software as a Service) cloud resources and to optimize the resource utilization of multiple user requests, an integrated software trust estimator with multi-user resource competence (IST-MRC) optimization mechanism is...

A Hybrid Trust Management Framework for Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks in Cyber-Physical Systems

To secure a wireless sensor and actuator network (WSAN) in cyber-physical systems, trust management framework copes with misbehavior problem of nodes and stimulate nodes to cooperate with each other. The existing trust management frameworks can be classified into reputation-based framework and trust establishment framework. There, however, are still many problems with these existing trust manag...

Patient Choice Has Become the Standard Practice in Healthcare Provision: It is Time to Extend its Meaning; Comment on “Is Patient Choice the Future of Health Care Systems?”

The key argument of this commentary is that patient choice has a broader meaning than suggested by consumerist choice models. In increasingly marketized health care systems with diversified and knowledge-based service arrangements, patients are continuously obliged to choose insurers, physicians or hospitals and treatments—whether they like it or not. However, health care users refer to a wide ...

An analysis of the exponential decay principle in probabilistic trust models

Research in models for experience-based trust management has either ignored the problem of modelling and reasoning about dynamically changing principal behaviour, or provided ad-hoc solutions to it. Probability theory provides a foundation for addressing this and many other issues in a rigorous and mathematically sound manner. Using Hidden Markov Models to represent principal behaviours, we foc...

Integrating Indicators of Trustworthiness into Reputation-Based Trust Models - Insurance, Certification, and Coalitions

Reputation-based trust models are essentially reinforcement learning mechanisms reliant on feedback. As such, they face a cold start problem when attempting to assess an unknown service partner. Stateof-the-art models address this by incorporating dispositional knowledge, the derivation of which is not described regularly. We propose three mechanisms for integrating knowledge readily available ...
